All NebraskaWood products are created from wood that is locally sourced, when possible. Wood is harvested from fallen and dead trees on the artist's family-owned land in rural Cass and Sarpy Counties in Nebraska. The wood is the result of storms and natural die-off. Occasionally, pruned branches are used in some items. The most commonly used woods are Elm, Oak, Walnut, Ash, Hackberry, Hickory and limited fruit woods like Cherry and Peach.
This miniature bird house ornament has been handcrafted and is signed on the bottom of the house. The 'house' is a small hollowed-out tree branch that was collected from the artist's property. The 'roof' is hand turned from a piece of Maple wood and fitted to the 'house'. Even the tiny bird is handcrafted and one-of-a-kind. The ornament is approximately 5.25" tall and includes a silver-colored hanger.
